the floating experience

Floating Appointment Time

Long day? Just show up for your appointment without worry.  We provide soaps, shampoo, conditioner, towels, facecloths, earplugs, lotion, a place to do your hair and makeup after your float, and a cuppa to complete your day.

We ask you use the facilities before you float. We wouldn't want you to interrupt your float to pee, although it happens! We have conveniently provided a facility right across from the float rooms, so you won't have to travel far.

Things to avoid

It is not advised you shave before a float or come from a fresh waxing.  The high salt content may irritate your skin, and who wants that?  If you have a small cut or scrape, we provide you with individual petroleum jelly packs to put over your ouch.  Also useful if you find you have a sensitive hoo-hoo.  We all have hoo-hoos.  It's cool to put some jelly on to stop any hoo-hoo from going hey-hey!

Fresh Tattoos! Hey, you spent a lot of money on that beauty, but lets face it, it's a giant scratch. Let it heal before you come to float.  Show us your artwork when you are ready...we love seeing new tattoos!

Freshly dyed hair.  You look fabulous! We love it! It needs to be washed at least 5 times before you float though.

Drugs and alcohol. Sorry folks, some of it's legal but no one is allowed to float under the influence.

If you have any medical issues, we ask that you get advice from your doctor first.  It shouldn't be a problem, but we want you to know you are cleared to float so you feel more comfortable.

Things to embrace

What do I do?

When I'm getting settled in for a float in the pod, I stretch.  Then I find a comfy position.  Try different ones... they make a difference!

Take lots of deep breaths to help you relax. If you find yourself ruminating, focus on breathing again and count the breaths out.

Close your eyes and step into your thoughts.  It's playtime in your head. Remember when you were a kid and played in your imagination? We don't do that as adults anymore.....have at it.  It's still fun.

Focus on a solution to a problem...or develop a creative idea...or go over your performance and how you want to execute a play in the next game...or just let thoughts go in and out.  You don't have to hang onto any thought you don't want to.  There are no pressures on you, and no expectations.  You have complete freedom to let thoughts come and then let them go.

There is a good chance you'll be hungry after your float. Enjoy the heightened flavours of your food and drink.  This is a time to nourish yourself.

Procedures

  • Please arrive for your appointment wearing your mask and wait at the door for us to meet you.  If you've forgotten your mask, we can provide you with one for a small fee.
  • We will ask you COVID screening related questions, and log that information.
  • You are welcome in and we request you remove your shoes, please.
  • We will escort you down to the washroom area.
  • Please use the washroom.
  • We will guide you into  the float room and happily answer any of your questions, while keeping a safe distance.  If you've never floated before, we will go over the basics!
  • Take shower #1 - this is a full body scrub down.  NO CONDITIONER. Please ensure you rinse yourself thoroughly so you don't bring soap into the pod.
  • Dry your face with the towels provided, and insert your ear plugs and put jelly where you need it.  We will provide this to you in individual packages.
  • Step into the pod and ease yourself into a lying down position.
  • You can close the door to the pod if you wish from a seated position. This is highly recommended.
  • We provide you with a HALO if you want to rest your head while you float.
  • Let it all go. People have fallen asleep, it's OK to do so.
  • Music will play to let you know the float is over.
  • Carefully exit the pod and enjoy shower #2.  Body Soap, Shampoo and Condition hair as needed.
  • Dry yourself and get dressed.
  • If you want to dry your hair, we have provided you with space in the Primp Room across the hall. Please bring your own hairbrush/products.
  • The Chill room service has been temporarily suspended until further restrictions have been lifted. We are sad about this as it was our time to really connect with you, but please know we are still full of love and appreciation for you and of your experience.  As soon as we can, this service will be reinstated.
  • Embrace the float glow and enjoy the rest of your day!
