I entered my second ever Nepsis float last April with a specific goal - to memorize a song in my second language, Scottish Gaelic. I was having trouble learning the lyrics to Mo Mhàthair (My Mother). Lying in the float pod solved that problem! During the float, I was able to truly focus, memorize, and comprehend the deeper sense and feelings expressed in the song.
Without that meditative time in the pods, I’m not sure if the single would have come together as fast as it did, in time for a Mother’s Day release!
The emotional impact of this recording can not be described, it must be heard. So as a thankyou to Amanda and a shout-out to the Nepsis community, I wanted to offer the song as a gift. Here is a free MP3 of Mo Mhàthair along with a couple of other songs!
What followed the release were six radio interviews, three folk festival invitations, and a spot on an international magazine cover. The song received international airplay on CBC, BBC, and community radio stations in the US and Canada.
The Nepsis float was a pivotal moment in my career as a producer and allowed me to make a confident recording-debut as a gaelic singer. Whether you are working on a speech, script, or other memorization goals, I would recommend a Nepsis float!
"I’m a working mom, active community coach and masters athlete. I feel my brain normally functions like dual-screen desktop, with multiple files and programs opened simultaneously. Most times this is manageable, but sometimes, too many programs are open and glitches start to happen, because life happens! When my brain feels too full like this, and I’m starting to physically feel overwhelmed, I book a float. Floats for me are the computer reset equivalent, where my brain is forced to take a hard pause from sensory overload. Afterwards I physically feel calmer, and my thoughts are clearer, focused, and back in working order again. My Floats have absolutely been a game changer for me in curbing and controlling stress and anxiety."
"I work in a fast paced and often noisy environment with a lot of people. I am constantly on the go and my mind is filled with scheduling, paperwork, prepping for meetings, deadlines and all the things that go with operating a small business.
When I go float it is pure silence. Darkness. No phones or distractions from the world outside my pod.
When I float it is my time to relax, reset, reenergize and clear my mind.
I love that I can book myself in online based on my schedule. Floating is my time to invest in myself and I have learned through all my floats just how important self-care is.
I am proud to be a regular floater! Do yourself a favor - book a float and join the pod, you’re body and mind will thank you for it!"
"I'm 18 and have been floating for over a year now. Floats are one of my favorite and most helpful ways to unwind and release pain. I first started to float to help with my sleep and since then it's helped me with more then I could imagine. I was in a car accident and the floating has helped with my pain management, stress, sleep, and whenever I just want to relax. I think everyone has to try a float because the benefits are beyond and I think will help everyone in there own way.--"
